HISTORY
“Los Angeles Por Ixta-Zihua, A.C.” Foundation was established in February of 2007, by Tomasina Jamison Esformes, Joseph Esformes and Ben Bourgeois.
The Foundation was created with the purpose of supporting the community of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo region particularly the Bernardo Sepúlveda General Regional Hospital, which didn’t have adequate equipment to meet basic core health necessities; Thus combining their philanthropic activities with their passion for the bullfighting festival known as the Fiesta Brava.
In light of this situation, the Founders concluded that by
organizing Bullfights that draw on her experience in this tradition, they could develop a means of involving the community, awaken an interest in the art and culture of bullfighting and raise funds that would benefit various institutions.
The main idea of the founders is to contribute to human development with the purpose of creating awareness of society’s urgent needs.
As a result of the success of bullfigthing and concert events held in the region and in order to develop a presence at the National level and to differentiate each charity event, a subsidiary called “Los Angeles Taurinos, A. C.” has been established.

PRENATAL WARD
Due to generous donations and to income from tickets sold to one of our events we were able to acquire equipment for the Prenatal Ward at the Bernardo Sepúlveda General Regional Hospital in Ixtapa, Zihuatanejo:
- Four incubators for intensive care
- Two incubators with phototherapy
- Four Pulse Oximeters for infants
- Four Oxygen Probes
DIABETES CARE WING
In light of the high incidence of diabetes and the absence of a specialized Unit at the previously mentioned General Hospital in Zihuatanejo, we organized another Bullfight that allowed us to obtain the necessary resources along with generous donations for the wing to be built and equipped. This hospital Wing provides the patient with Medical Attention, Nutrional and Balanced diet, exercise equipment and educational information. All of this has created a positive impact on the quality of life of the patients as well as their families.
HYDRO MASSAGE UNIT
The event organized by the Los Angeles Taurinos Foundation in Tlaquepaque Municipality in Jalisco was an artistic success. The funds were channeled to the Santa Marta Foundation to support the construction and equipping of the Hydro Massage Unit, which will complement physical therapy for children with special needs who come to the center for treatment.

INTENSIVE CARE UNIT
Our Continuing Project is to provide equipment for the Intensive Care Unit of the Hospital. The Intensive Care Unit saves many lives and is essential to a Hospital.
Unfortunately, there are currently no such Units present throughout most of the Region. This is one of the costliest Units to equip and install in a Hospital.
The Mexican Government is supporting our project contributing $600,000.00 Dollars that will be used to build, condition and equipt The Area for The intensive Care Unit.
